Amanda Starkey Helms is a Las Vegas-based sculptor originally from Philadelphia. She received a BA in Sculpture with a minor in Art History from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2026.
Working primarily in stoneware and earthenware, Helms creates skeuomorphic ceramic sculptures inspired by science fiction, retrofuturism, and the material traces left behind by time and disaster. Through damaged objects, industrial fragments, and personal effects, her work explores memory, absence, and endurance, inviting viewers to reconstruct the stories, systems, and histories suggested by the things that remain.
